Where does the data come from?

Apollo has a base of:

• 156 million professional and personal emails
• 212 million international contacts
• 120 millions phone numbers

Apollo's 265 million contact database is made up of

• the CRM and email data of its users (both freemium and paying) which lets Apollo take ownership of several million contacts...: "Apollo has a strong database thanks to our large network of over 1.6 million data contributors. We can run verification checks against connected inboxes, CRMs and csv uploads."

• its scrapers which "hoover" the web to collect the professional and company data of millions of prospects:  "Apollo has proprietary algorithms that regularly crawl the web at scale, parse public-facing websites, and build a web-wide index of people and company data."

• its data providers which give more than 270 million contact cards. "Apollo processes over 270 million records monthly from carefully vetted third-party data providers. These partnerships help to complement Apollo's already highly accurate and ever-growing database with additional high-quality verified data."

Apollo scrapes and stores millions of personal and name-based data to resell them. There's no mention of any data update or of the fact that these millions of data are deleted after a 3-year inactivity, as stated by the GDPR.
